Current position: the Act received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025. The substantive requirements are expected to come into force in spring 2027. The SIA is the regulator. Requirements depend on whether qualifying premises or events fall within the standard or enhanced tier.

Standard Tier

Generally applies where 200–799 people may be present at the same time. Public protection procedures include consideration of:

Generally applies where 800 or more people may be present at the same time. Additional public protection measures and documentation requirements apply.
